“GAME PLAN FOR THE FUTURE”
Tuesday, June 3rd at 5:30PM
Often times here at the COA, we hear comments from people about their desire to make life easier. Many times their main concern is that big old house that costs too much in taxes and is becoming increasingly difficult to maintain. They know it is time to “Game Plan for the Future” but where do you start?????
Thanks to our good friend Tom O’Neill, Owner of Success! Real Estate of Milton, we can help you sort through this daunting task. Last fall, Tom and his team presented a similar program and it was very well received and extremely helpful to many people. A few weeks ago, Tom called and said he would love to do another similar type program and we were all thrilled to work with him once again.
Plans for this presentation include a delicious light supper at 5:30PM and the presentation will start promptly at 6PM. Tom will start the presentation giving us an update on the current real estate market in Milton. In talking with him last week, it was interesting to note that there are many buyers out there but not much inventory of homes in Milton. Once you make the decision to sell or downsize, there is always legal ramifications. This portion of the presentation will be covered by Attorney Thomas O’Neill from the law firm of O’Neill and McGrath PC. Thomas will explain the different types of trusts you can use to protect your home, the time limit for a Medicaid look back and the dreaded capital gains taxes when you do finally sell your home. Both Tom and Thomas will be available to take your questions as well. They have even agreed to stay after the presentation to speak with you privately over coffee and dessert. As if all this wasn’t enough……there will also be a door prize of a FREE CLEAN OUT ($500 Value) so that you can get rid of your large and small unwanted/unneeded items or furniture. If you live in Milton you know how great it would be to win this door prize!!!! Handouts will be available as well as a few restaurant gift certificates given away throughout the event.
Reservations are required so please give us a call at 617-898-4893 to sign up. Special thanks to Tom and his team for their continued generosity and willingness to help us with our GAME PLAN FOR THE FUTURE!!!!
WELLNESS SERIES TO START ON JUNE 2nd
The Milton COA and Perfectly Balanced Life are partnering to create a wellness program which can help reduce pain, increase circulation, relieve stress, ease the tension, and enhance the quality of life for Milton seniors. This new Wellness Series will encourage participants to create a healthy lifestyle through stress management, wellness coaching and experimental activities. These strategies will help expand their understanding of a holistic approach to self-care which encourages the integration of body, mind and spirit. The services proposed in the series do not replace, but rather supplement traditional medical treatments and therapies. This is done through complementary health techniques and methods which use the senses of touch, smell, hearing, taste, and sight to help participants experience feelings of relaxation, happiness, warmth, safety and comfort – essential feelings of fulfilling life. The series will start on Monday, June 2nd with both a morning and afternoon session. It will then continue on the first Monday of every month. The cost is just $10 and is payable directly to the Perfectly Balanced Life Staff. Everyone here at the COA is thrilled to continue and grow our relationship with the caring staff of Perfectly Balanced Life. The topics for the next few months are as follows:
- Healthy Breathing – June 2nd (10AM & 2PM)
- Soothing Self-Massage – July 7th (10AM & 2PM)
- The Healing Scents – August 4th (10AM & 2PM)
- Revitalize through Self-Care – September 1st (10AM & 2PM)

CALLING ALL MEN……………A SPECIAL DAY TRIP JUST FOR YOU
In the past 20 plus years I have learned many things about the people I meet here at the COA. There is, however, one thing I still haven’t figured out and that is how to get men to come to more programs and activities. Last month, we hosted a lovely tea in honor of mothers and we had to turn people away. This month in honor of fathers we have come up with what we hope will bring some “guys” to join us. On Friday, June 20th we plan to tour either or both the Lars Anderson Auto Museum and the Sam Adams Brewery and have lunch at Doyle’s Café in Jamaica Plain. Plans are to leave on the vans around 10AM and all you have to do is sit back and leave the details to us. We hope many men will find this a good idea and opt to join us. Please call us and get your name on the list, if you give us a chance we know we can promise a good time. This trip is for MEN ONLY!!!!!!!
