Yesterday morning Chief John J. Grant of the Milton Fire Department was sworn in as the new President of the Massachusetts Fire Chiefs Association at a ceremony held at Curry College.

Attending the ceremony along with Fire Chiefs from across the commonwealth, were State Representative Walter F. Timilty, State Senator and Chairman of the Senate’s Committee on Public Safety, James E. Timilty, and Milton Selectwoman Kathleen M. Conlon. Both State Representative Timilty and Selectwoman Conlon, in her capacity as Chairman of the Board of Selectman, offered remarks, praising Chief Grant’s great character, exemplary leadership, and reputation.

We join all Milton in offering our congratulations to Chief Grant, about whom Representative Timilty said, “[he] is a “Firefighter’s Firefighter”! The Town of Milton deserves the very best. His exemplary style of leadership, coupled with the outstanding women and men of the Milton Fire Department, have provided just that!”
