Pine Tree Brook Neighborhood Association is holding their annual Clean up this Saturday, May 3. At 8am at the Gile Road bridge that spans Pine Tree Brook, neighbors will be serving “Breakfast by the Brook” including coffee, juice, bagels and more to fuel the work to be done.
Milton’s DPW is providing bags for trash and recycling. Adults and children will head out with bags and gloves to do a little spring cleaning along the Pine Tree Brook path and at the ends of the streets. It is a great time to do this, as the spring growth has not hidden all of the garbage yet.
Every year, residents find all sorts of “treasures”, like old bottles, bikes, jewelry, lots of balls. “This is a great time to get outside and reacquaint ourselves with the neighbors,” said Margaret Carels who has been active with the neighborhood association for many years. “We also get a lot of work done in a short amount to time. The brook and the pathway is a real asset to our neighborhood and it is worth taking care of it.” The Pine Tree Brook Neighborhood Association includes the neighborhoods on both sides of the brook as far as Canton Ave and Houston, however all are welcome.
A suggested donation is requested to support this event going forward. For more information, go to www.pinetreebrook.com
