Town Clerk to hold 2nd Annual Swearing-In Ceremony

On Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 6:00 – 7:00 PM the Town Clerk will host the 2nd Annual Swearing-In Ceremony for newly elected/re-elected Town Wide Officials.  This event is designed to officially swear-in officials who have been elected at the Annual Town Election on Tuesday, April 29, 2014.  The event will be held at the Baron Hugo Gazebo in front of Town Hall, 525 Canton Avenue. 

This is the second year of this formal swearing-in ceremony and it is designed to provide the opportunity for the media, family, and friends who may wish to offer congratulations and capture the moment with a photograph.  This ceremony is open to the public and all are encouraged to attend.

While elected officials are not required to attend, Town Clerk, Susan M. Galvin encourages attendance.  In a comment she said, “This ceremony publicly recognize those who have decided to put their name on the Town Ballot in the interest of serving the citizens of Milton. For many this is a milestone in their lives and this ceremony will help solidify their accomplishment.”

Newly elected/re-elected Town Meeting Members will be sworn-into office at Town Meeting on Monday, May 5, 2014.
