Monday Night at the Movies: “Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has To Travel” at the Milton Library

The Milton Public Library invites you to a special showing of “Diana Vreeland:  The Eye Has To Travel” on Monday, March 24th, promptly at 6:30 p.m. in the Keys Community Room (lower level) of the library, located at 476 Canton Avenue in Milton.  This free event, sponsored by the Friends of the Milton Public Library, is open to the public.

DIANA VREELAND: THE EYE HAS TO TRAVEL is an intimate portrait and celebration of one of the most influential women of the 20th century.

Diana Vreeland (1903-1989) was an exotic and vibrant character who, during her fifty-year reign as the “Empress of Fashion,” dazzled the world with her unique vision of style.  She launched Twiggy, advised Jackie O, and coined some of fashion’s most eloquent proverbs such as “the bikini is the biggest thing since the atom bomb.”

Ms. Vreeland lived for new experiences and new ideas, and she was able to transmit her passions through her pages at Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue.  As Ms. Vreeland said best, “I was not a fashion editor; I was the one and only fashion editor.”

This film is directed by Lisa Immordino Vreeland, (who is married to Alexander Vreeland, the grandson of Diana Vreeland), and was the Official Selection of Venice International Film Festival and Telluride Film Festival.  Rated PG-13. (86 Minutes).
