Fuller Village Hosts a Film Screening of “The Genius of Marian”

The award winning documentary will be shown on Wednesday, March 5th at 2:00pm in the Function Room at 1372 Brush Hill Rd. Milton.  The film is an intimate family portrait that explores the heartbreak of Alzheimer’s disease, the power of art and the meaning of family. The Genius of Marian follows Pam White in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease as her son, the filmmaker, documents her struggle to hang on to a sense of self. “It’s a remarkable film, not only for the obvious affection with which it was made, but as art.” Indiwire Magazine, April 2013 “Prepare for a touching accomplishment in documentary cinema.  The Genius of Marian is delicately moving, an important film for anyone experiencing or afflicted by Alzheimer’s disease” The Examiner (Boston) April 2013.

Mike Kincade from the Massachusetts Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association will present Understanding Alzheimer’s and Memory Loss on Thursday, March 6th at 2:00pm in the Function Room at 1372 Brush Hill Rd., Milton.  The Alzheimer’s Association works on a global, national and local level to enhance care and support for all those affected by Alzheimer’s and related dementias.  Alzheimer’s disease is not a normal part of aging. This program provides information about the disease and related dementias, the benefits of early detection, causes and risk factors, treatment, and services offered by the Alzheimer’s Association.
