News release from First Parish
First Parish in Milton is looking for organ donations—no, not that kind.
On Saturday evening, March 1st, beginning at 7pm, First Parish in Milton is staging a Café Blue Hills at which its members will be singing to save our organ. We have recently learned that the blower for our historic Wigglesworth Memorial Schlicker pipe organ is suffering from a serious lung infection that will require intensive and expensive treatment. So we are going to sing it back to health, and you are invited to take part.
We’ll have a wide range of musical entertainment that will include the premier performance of at least one original composition as well as performances of lots of old favorites and many opportunities to sing along. We’ll have warm beverages and delicious baked goods to help everyone shake off all this mayhem from Old Man Winter and hopefully send him on his way until next year.
Everyone in the greater Milton community is invited to join us for a festive evening in our Parish Hall at 535 Canton Avenue in Milton. Please contact our church office at 617-698-6329 with any questions. There will be no admission charge, but we will be very grateful for any donations to help “Schlick” get back to bellowing at her best. So bring your checkbook.
