Notice from the Office of the Town Clerk

Milton Town Clerk, Susan M. Galvin, is announcing that nomination papers for both Town Wide and Town Meeting Representative Members will be available on Monday, Jan. 13, 2014 at the Office of the Town Clerk. The annual Town Election will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2014. To be placed upon the ballot, Town Wide candidates (incumbents and challengers) must obtain a minimum of the 50 signatures from registered voters. Non-incumbent Town Meeting representatives candidates must obtain 10 signatures from the precinct in which they reside. Incumbent Town Meeting representative candidates must return the post card sent to them on or before March 4, 2014 to indicate their candidacy.

The Clerk strongly recommends for all candidates to obtain additional signatures. Nomination papers must be returned to the Board of Registrars at the Office of the Town Clerk for certification by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 in order to have your name placed upon the ballot On Tuesday, April 29, 2014.

Town Wide Offices: 

• One SELECTMAN and SURVEYOR OF THE HIGHWAY for a term of three years 
• A TOWN TREASURER for a term of one year 
• One ASSESSOR for a term of three years 
• Two SCHOOL COMMITTEE members for a term of three years 
• One PARK COMMISSIONER for a term of three years 
• One Member of the BOARD of HEALTH for a term of three years 
• One Member of the BOARD of HEALTH for a term of one year 
• Three TRUSTEES of the PUBLIC LIBRARY for a term of three years 
• One HOUSING AUTHORITY for a term of five years 
• One TRUSTEE of the CEMETERY for a term of five years 
• One PLANNING BOARD member for a term of five years

*Representative Town Meeting Member 

• Precinct One: Nine for a term of three years, One for a term of one year (to fill a vacancy) 
• Precinct Two: Ten for a term of three years 
• Precinct Three: Ten for a term of three years 
• Precinct Four: Nine for a term of three years 
• Precinct Five: Seven for a term of three years, One for a term of two years (to fill a vacancy) 
• Precinct Six: Ten for a term of three years 
• Precinct Seven: Nine for a term of three years 
• Precinct Eight Ten for a term of three years 
• Precinct Nine: Ten for a term of three years, One for a term of two years (to fill a vacancy)
