We have lost a great man; this statement above epitomizes the incredible generosity of spirit and commitment to peace he demonstrated. When I visited South Africa in 1995 on a trade mission, I was stunned to witness the impact of apartheid and the depth of vehemence it engendered; for the first time in my life I understood what it felt like to be discriminated against and how deeply awful that felt.
He made such an impact on so many lives and countries.
