Calling All Volunteer Groups in Town: Let Us Know How to Reach You!

Ever wonder how to join the Milton Rotary Club? Or how to audition for the next production of the Milton Players? Or when sign ups begin for fall soccer? Town Clerk Susan Galvin and resident Anne Comber would like to make the answers to those questions just a click away. They are working together to compile a list of all the volunteer organizations in town. This list, which would include the contact information and website (if available) of every group and town board and committee, would be available on the town’s website. The Milton Times has also agreed to post the information on a website they manage www.miltonconnection.com.

Galvin is working with the Selectmen and the various town departments to compile a list of all the town’s volunteer boards, committees, and neighborhood associations. Comber is asking a representative of every service group, youth group, sports league, special interest group, and school PTO to email her the following information: group name; contact name, phone number and email address; and website address. This information should be sent to anne.comber@comcast.net.

Comber will update the Milton Volunteer Organization List every year, so changes should be sent to her. According to Galvin, the list will be very helpful not only to people who move into town and are looking to get involved, but also to longtime residents who are simply trying to find out who to call to get some information about a group.

For more information about the list, please email Anne Comber. Comber and Galvin hope to have the list completed by the first of the year.
