Notice from the Milton DPW
November 26, 2013 – The National Weather Service is predicting heavy rain in the Milton area for Tuesday night into Wednesday. Total rainfall is predicted to range between 2 and 3 inches in Eastern Massachusetts, with heavy pockets of downpours. A High Wind Warning, a Flood Watch and a Hazardous Weather Outlook have been issued. Please exercise caution during this severe weather event. Localized flooding is likely under these circumstances. Please provide as much protection as is possible for your own property and that of your neighbor; Exercise care in keeping leaves clear of street drain grates, as flooding potential increases dramatically in the fall season as leaves will clog local drains.
At the present time, the waste collection remains unchanged. Consult www.townofmilton.org for up to the minute waste collection changes. Please put your trash and recyclables out on Wednesday morning as high winds during the overnight could likely topple barrels.

between the hours of 7:30 am. and 4:00 pm.
Bag of leaves that have been left at curbside are now soaked through; these will really clog drains if the wet bags tear. This could cause a needless cost to the town to clear drains if this continues to happen because yard waste is not for another 12 days. The DPW mails every household a yearly trash/yard waste schedule in July and the yard waste schedule is easily obtainable on the Town of Milton website.
