Fontbonne Stops Selling Water Bottles

Fontbonne Academy has stopped stocking water bottles in its refrigerator this year, and has gotten rid of its free standing water bottle machine as well. “We really wanted to stop contributing to a big environmental problem; landfills are just loaded with water bottles,” said Sister Maryann Enright, whose office is adjacent to the cafeteria.

She oversaw the implementation of a new filtered water system at Fontbonne, allowing students to get fresh, clean water in the cafeteria in their personal reuseable water bottles. “Students have really embraced this new method, and we are proud to be good stewards of the environment,” said Sister Maryann.
