In celebration of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the Patron Saint of Animals, the Reverend Hall Kirkham of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, Milton visited the Milton Animal Shelter on Friday, October 4 and blessed the many animals in need of families and homes.

Rev. Hall also delivered animal food and toys to the shelter, all donated by St. Michael’s parishioners.

Following are some photos of Rev Kirkham with a local parishioner and some of the animals from the shelter which are up for adoption. You can learn more about animals available for adoption from the Milton Animal League’s web site or by calling them at (617) 698-0413.

Finally, on Sunday October 6, St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Milton will hold the annual Blessing of the Animals for parishioners and pet owners at 4pm in the Garden of Seasons adjacent to the church. Participants are invited to bring their pets – including cats, dogs, turtles, fish and guinea pigs – to receive a blessing of good health and well-being. Children can also bring their favorite stuffed animals and dolls to receive a blessing.
