State Police and Milton Police make arrest in April Murder

A 30-year old Roxbury man was arrested by Massachusetts State Police detectives attached to the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office, Milton Police and Boston Police for the April 2013 murder of Jordan Baskin in the town of Milton, District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey and Chief Richard G. Wells, Jr. announced.

“Nathaniel Brown, of 213 Geneva Avenue, Roxbury, Mass., was arrested tonight on an indictment warrant obtained earlier this week from Norfolk Superior Court,” District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey said. “He was arrested in the area of Geneva Avenue after a two-day search. We expect that he will be arraigned in the Norfolk Superior Court in Dedham after 10 a.m. on Friday morning (September 27, 2013.)”

Massachusetts State Police homicide detectives attached to District Attorney Morrissey’s Office and Milton Police have been developing information and evidence on the case since the night of the April 14 stabbing, Morrissey said. Brown was arrested before 9 p.m.

“Jordan Baskin’s father was in their home at Hudson Street that night and heard a loud crash from downstairs. When he went down to investigate, he found his 22-year old son suffering from the several stab wounds that would prove to be fatal,” District Attorney Morrissey said. “This has been a grave ordeal for this family, and we are pleased for them that the Norfolk County Grand Jury has issued these indictments and this case can now move to the Norfolk Superior Court for prosecution.”

“The Milton Police and Chief Wells have been excellent partners in this investigation working with the State Police detective unit in the DA’s office,” Morrissey said. “The Quincy and Boston Police department assisted in our efforts to locate Mr. Brown in areas he is known to frequent. Tonight, we have an arrest and the prosecution begins Friday.”
