MPD Notice: Break ins highlight need to lock up

Notice from the Milton Police Department

Please take very serious notice of this post. In the past couple of months, two homes (both unlocked) were entered by unknown individuals during the night. Last night, there were two such crimes after midnight. One on Hinckley Rd, and the second on Centre Lane. Both homes unlocked and items taken from each location. You have to LOCK your doors at night. This is the greatest deterrent to these thieves. Our investigation reveals that these crimes are being spread out in terms of time between breaks and different locations in town. It is one thing to leave your car unlocked, another your home unlocked while you sleep! In none of the cases did the victims hear the offender(s). MPD needs your help to catch these thieves. Lock your house, leave an outside light on. If you hear a dog barking, a car, a persons voice, especially after midnight, call right away. One thing we learned last week was a resident going to work two weeks ago observed a man outside her home at 3am but never called. PLEASE this important. Thank you.
