The Milton High School Crew boys varsity team took the bronze in 4+ event at last Sunday’s state championships put on by the Massachusetts Public School Rowing Association. It was a clear, cool day and a long day; but a great day for Milton Crew.
Milton Crew, in its third season, has now stamped its name as an up and coming team to be reckoned with in MA high school rowing. The girls varsity 4+ did not medal but put in a strong appearance also, placing 4th in their event.
The team has seen tremendous progress under the guidance of coach Milos Nikolic. Coach commented on Sunday’s results saying, “[the athletes] all raced hard and with confidence yesterday. We made a statement that the other teams should be afraid of us. We will never again be an easy team to beat. Our rowers demonstrated what Milton Crew is about: determination and dedication!” He continued, “I would like to thank to all the parents, coaching staff, program director and the board members to all the hard work that you have put into this team!”
The team is organizing an ergathon to build awareness and support for the program. Details will be made public shortly.
Congratulations to the entire team and their coaching staff on their progress and achievements.
