Representative Walter Timilty Testifies in Support Fowl Meadow Legislation

News release from the Office of Walter Timitly

Representative Walter Timilty (D – Milton) testified at a recent Committee on Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture. Timilty testified in favor of two bills that he filed earlier this session; House Bills 818 and 819.

House Bills 818 and 819 were filed with the intent of protecting an area of concern, to both Milton and the Blue Hills Reservation, from development. Development in the area designated in the legislation would prove detrimental to the Fowl Meadow portion of the Blue Hills Reservation. The legislation would restrict development directly adjacent to Fowl Meadow, an area which has been designated an area of critical concern by the Commonwealth due to Fowl Meadow’s dependence on the ecosystem of this area for its own health.

In summation, Timilty states, “It is our responsibility to preserve and protect these natural assets of the Commonwealth for present users and future generations alike.”
