Temple Shalom concludes film series with “A Separation”

“A Separation,” the concluding film in this season’s Winter Movie Series of Temple Shalom of Milton, co-sponsored this year by the First Congregational Church and First Parish Church, will be screened on Saturday evening, March 16th at 7:45 p.m., with doors opening at 7:00. The film, which is part of the movie series theme “Insight into Iran” and was postponed from February, will be shown in Huntington Hall of the First Congregational Church, 495 Canton Avenue, with entry at the rear door.

“A Separation”, released in 2011, was a multiple award winner, including the Academy Award and Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film. In it a married couple is faced with a difficult decision – to improve the life of their child by moving to another country or to stay in Iran and look after a deteriorating parent who has Alzheimer’s disease. It is rated PG-13 and is in Farsi with English subtitles, and is open to the entire community.

The donation for admission is $3.00 per person, or two for $5.00. Advance reservations get a free popcorn or bottle of water.
