Superintendent Mary C. Gormley announced this week that Stephanie Nephew will be returning to her position as principal of the Glover as part of an arranged job-share. Ms. Nephew will serve as co-principal with Drew Echelson. Mr. Echelson has been serving as principal since the beginning of the school year while Ms. Nephew was on family leave. She will return on Monday, January 7th at which time they will share the roles and responsibilities.
The two have communicated regularly throughout the school year on issues regarding students, staff and curriculum. The job share will allow Mr. Echelson an opportunity to work on his doctoral studies, while allowing Mrs. Nephew the chance to transition back into her former position. Mr. Echelson was principal at Tucker Elementary prior to pursuing an advanced degree at Harvard University.
Echelson and Nephew understand that success of the co-principalship model depends on effective communication and are committed to a seamless transition. A release from the Milton Public Schools states, “The Glover community will benefit from the leadership of these two talented educational leaders.”
