During the month of January 2013, the Milton Public Library will host the work of photographer and painter Emma May in the first floor Wotiz Gallery. This Boston area artist has a love of travel which has always shaped her photography, and everything that she loves about traveling is expressed through her work. These physical elements include culture, geography, architecture, landscapes, color and texture. Her goal is to capture the serenity of the natural world and to escape the chaotic surroundings that everyday life can bring. Ultimately, a successful photograph will make the viewer feel how Emma felt while she was taking it. This display focuses on capturing natural beauty, and she has incorporated brilliant landscapes found throughout her travels into her pieces which has helped her develop a diverse body of work. The exhibit will be called “Stamped: A Photographic Journey Around the World.” The Milton Public Library is located at 476 Canton Avenue. For more information about displaying art at the library, contact Jean Hlady, Adult Services Librarian, at (617) 698-5757.
