Thnak you residents for helping our community to prepare for this storm. Traffic flow is very light which is helping response crews to mitigate downed limbs and clogged roadways.

Good Afternoon,

With Hurricane Sandy moving its way northward and expected to impact our region on Monday and Tuesday, NSTAR’s preparations for a significant impact on its electric grid are well underway.
NSTAR Advisory to all Milton Residents. 12 pm. Monday 10/29

While no utility can prevent widespread power outages in the face of devastating storms, we’ve worked throughout the year enhancing our storm response plans and communication procedures, and we stand ready to address any damage as quickly and safely as possible.
An important part of our preparations is reaching out to contractors and other utilities to secure their assistance, which we have done. While no utility in Sandy’s path can commit to releasing their crews to another utility until they know their system is safe, we have already secured contractor crews from as far away as Texas and Washington State to assist us. Crews will be arriving in our service area throughout the day today.
NSTAR is prepared for Hurricane Sandy and we advise customers to also be prepared. On Friday we made calls to residents who are on our list of those using life support devices, reminding them of how to plan and prepare for an outage, and what to do should an outage occur. Similar calls to all NSTAR customers have begun, as have emails to customers who have opted to receive paperless correspondence from us.
We encourage customers whose electric service is affected to call us at 1-800-592-2000.
Important information about storm kits and other preparations, how to contact us, as well as a new outage map, are located on our website at www.nstar.com.
