The Milton Public Library will be hosting several artists during November, December and January. For the month of November, we welcome Milton local Faith Ninivaggi, a photojournalist and fine art photographer. Her beautiful work will grace the Wotiz Gallery on the first floor and it ranges from news photos and documentaries to portraits and musicians to personal scenes. There will be an opening reception for this exhibit held on Thursday, November 8th at 6:15 PM.
Then during the month of December, a group called “Painters for A Purpose” will display pastels in the Wotiz Gallery. Painters for A Purpose is a joining together of fine artists from the area, who will donate 30% of sales to the Milton Food Pantry. They are primarily landscape and floral artists, and their goal is to capture the flavor, light and fragrance of the seasons. This will be the group’s,6th charitable exhibit and they have many art association memberships to their credit, including the South Shore Art Center, the North River Art Society, the Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod, and the Quincy Art Association. The Milton exhibit is called “Pastels for the Pantry” and there will be an opening reception on Saturday, December 8″‘ from 2-4 PM.
There will also be library artwork by Randolph natives Jamaal Eversley and Nicole Pilgrim on display starting on December 10th downstairs in the Keys Community Room . Eversley creates vibrant colorful pieces that are graphical in nature, and Nicole Pilgrim is a landscape artist who gets her inspiration from exploring the beauty of New England. An open reception will be held for this exhibit on Saturday, December 15th from 2-4 PM and the paintings will be in place until January 20″‘.
During the month of January 2013, Milton photographer Ernma May will show her lovely photos in the Wotiz Gallery. Ms. May, a Milton resident, has work that ranges from colorful landscapes and botanicals to portraits and animals to graphical images. More details about this exhibit will follow.
