Erin O’Malley of Milton took a year off from Providence College last year to volunteer for Flying Kites, a nonprofit organization which runs a school and orphanage in Njabini, Kenya. Months after her return, she co-founded a nonprofit Njabini Apparel, which employs Kenyan mothers who make scarves, hats, yoga mat bags and wristlets. (Read the full story here.)
