Temple Shalom of Milton will host a Community Yizkor (Memorial) Service on Yom Kippur evening, Wednesday, Sept. 26th, at approximately 5:45 p.m. The entire community is invited to attend, and no High Holiday tickets are required.
The solemn and moving Yizkor service includes the Yizkor Memorial prayer, recited in the synagogue on Yom Kippur and the three other major Jewish holidays – Pesach, Shavuot and Sukkot – by those who have lost parents or loved ones.
All High Holiday services are under the direction of Rabbi Fred Benjamin and Cantor Saralee Shrell-Fox. The Yizkor service will follow the 5 p.m. Mincha service, and precede the Ne’ilah (Concluding) service and the final Shofar blast at about 7:19 p.m. This marks the end of the fast on Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, and it will be followed by a Dairy Break-Fast to which everyone is invited.
Temple Shalom’s worship services currently are at the Great Hall Sanctuary in the First Congregational Church, 495 Canton Avenue. For more information, please call the Temple office at 617-698-3394, email: office@TempleShalomOnline.org or visit www.TempleShalomOnline.org.
