Milton Reads! 2012 – community wide reading to launch in September

Mary Riffe Hiss, a member of the Library Board of Trustees, announced Milton Reads! 2012 at a recent Board of Selectmen’s meeting. Milton Reads! is an initiative from the Milton Library, Friends and Foudation that engages the town in a community wide cultural activity – reading a book together. The book they have chosen is the timeless American classic, To Kill a Mockingbird.

The official kickoff for the program will take place at the Milton Public Library on September 15th. Books will be available for just $5. If you are interested in purchasing a copy please email miltonreads2012@gmail.com.

The Forbes House Museum, The Milton Players, he Milton Garden Club, and The Milton Interfaith Clergy Association are among organizations working on programming events. The Milton Times, The Kiwanis, Fuller Village, The Milton Historical Society, and The Milton Council on Aging.
