News release from Milton Republican Town Committee
Three-part cable series review revenue, expenses and the CPA
In a three-part series to be aired on Milton Access Cable TV, members and guests of the Milton Republican Town Committee (MRTC) analyze the Town budget and address the prudence of implementing the Community Preservation Act (CPA), which will be coming to a vote in November.
“Where does the Town’s money go, and why is there never enough,” asks MRTC Chair Robert Hiss in his introduction to the series entitled, “Taking on the Town Budget.” The televised discussions led by Mr. Hiss examine revenue sources, expenses; tax increases and personal income growth over a six year period, as well as bring to light the pros and cons of the CPA. “These programs were developed to shed some light on whether there is a need for a new tax,” adds Mr. Hiss. Theodore (Ted) Daiber, a long time Milton resident and Town Meeting member, and Betsy Sullivan, former Duxbury Selectwoman, will participate as guests of the series.
The first program is currently being aired on Milton Republican TV (MRTV) on Tuesdays at 8:00 p.m. and Thursdays at 10:00 a.m. on Comcast channels 8, 10 and 22 or RCN channels 3, 13 and 15. Dates for programs two and three will be announced on www.miltongop.com, where the programs can also be viewed on demand.
MRTV is sponsored by the Milton Republican Town Committee. For more information, visit www.miltongop.com.
