Dr. Karen Spaulding of Cunningham School appointed principal at Pierce Middle School

ln a letter sent today to parents and staff, Superintendent Mary Gormley announced that Karen Spaulding, current principal at the Cunningham Elementary School, was appointed to be the new principal at the Pierce Middle School. She will be filling the shoes of James Jette who is leaving as principal of the Pierce to assume the helm as principal of Milton High.

Ms. Gormley had this to say about Dr. Spaulding:

Prior to her principalship at Cunningham, Dr. Spaulding served as Assistant Principal/Math & Science Coordinator at the Pierce Middle School from 2006-2010. In this role she provided leadership and supervision in the areas of student discipline, family communication, student recognition, teacher supervision and evaluation, professional development, curriculum development, data analysis, and the facilitation of the math and science departments.

Ms. Gormley also announced the appointment of Life LeGeros as Assistant Principal/Math Curriculum Coordinator. Ms. Gormly writes:

Mr. LeGeros comes to us from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education where he oversees the mathematics targeted assistance team as the Director of Statewide Mathematics Initiatives.
Mr. LeGeros received his Bachelor’s Degree from Grinnell College in Iowa; his Master’s Degree in Educational Policy Studies from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and is pursuing his Doctoral Degree in Education from the University of Massachusetts – Boston.
