News release from Temple Shalom
Temple Shalom of Milton will hold an Open House for prospective members at the same time that it celebrates the conclusion of another successful Religious School year with a Kosher barbecue on Sunday, May 20, from 11 a.m. to noon. The Open House will be at the Temple’s interim religious school site at the Pierce Middle School, 451 Central Avenue, and all interested families in the South Shore and Greater Boston area are invited to attend.
Residents are invited to meet Education Director Nancy Mollitor, Rabbi Fred Benjamin and Temple officers, learn about the Temple’s programs and activities, including the religious school, and enjoy some refreshments. Temple membership information will be available, and non-members who call in advance to attend the Open House will receive free tickets for services on the first day of Rosh Hashanah in the fall.
Temple Shalom is also accepting registrations to its Rabbi Jerome Weistrop Religious School, which meets on Sunday mornings and Tuesday afternoons, starting next September. The school has small class sizes and a very active and innovative curriculum, including unique holiday celebrations, pre-school-age Story Hour, Bar/Bat Mitzvah classes, and frequent family activities. The school is also involved in the Passport to Israel Program, which is designed to enable travel to Israel by participating teenage students. For religious school information, call the school office at 617-698-3395.
