Annual Town Meeting will convene on monday, May 7th in a historic locale. Brian Walsh, Town Moderator, will open the session at the First Parish Church on Canton Ave. The church had once been the meeting place for Milton’s annual town legislative session and is being held there in honor of Milton’s 350th anniversary.
In recent times Town Meeting has been held at the high school auditorium and it will move there on the second night. The Warrant for this town meeting consists of budget articles for town departments as well as articles related to a new town Master Plan, the Community Preservation Act, and a committee to review and advise on any future redistricting. You can find a copy of the 2012 Warrant here.
Note – we recently interviewed Ewna Innes, Chairman of the Warrant Committee, on MATV. The interview will be broadcast this evening at 6:30PM and again on Friday, Saturday, and Sundat at 7:30PM. You can check compete MATV listings here.
Town Meeting members are advised to arrive early and space may be a bit tight and all members will need to be sworn in.
