Milton residents sing in Quincy Chorale’s premier of Yizkor Requiem

The Quincy Choral Society and Orchestra with John Nichols, Music Director, presents Lest We Forget on Sunday, May 6 at 7:30 pm featuring the Boston area premier of Thomas Beveridge’s Yizkor Requiem.

This powerful piece combines the memorial services of the Jewish and Catholic religions, evoking themes of remembrance and comfort. The concert features guest soloists Jason McStoots, tenor, as the Cantor; Stephanie Mann, soprano; and Desiree Maira, mezzo soprano, with full orchestra and chorus.

Twenty residents of Milton, nearly 25% of the chorus’s membership, will be performing in the May 6 concert: Fred Carter, Dwight Dewsnap, Roger Haynes, Edward Hays, June Andrews Horowitz, Brian Kelley, Laurie Macintosh, Michael Maholchic, Martha McMahon, Tim O’Neill, Kristie Randall, Francine Ravelson, Perry Russell, Rod Skinner, Barbara Stoller, Bob Turner, Janice Wallace, Sarah Wehle, Marilyn Whipple, Fred White

Milton resident Virginia Grimes is the chorus’s accompanist. The Quincy Choral Society has been bringing music to the South Shore and the world since 1981
