Patriot Hero Joseph Warren to Speak at Milton Historical Society Annual Dinner

Dr. Joseph Warren (1741 –1775) will be the guest of honor at the annual dinner of the Milton Historical Society. The event, “A visit from Dr. Warren,” will take place on Thursday, May 17th, 2012 at the Neighborhood Club of Quincy. It is open to the public.

Joseph Warren, a true son of liberty, came to Milton in 1774 and signed the Suffolk Resolves, a resolution about independence, at a house belonging to Daniel Vose in Milton Lower Mills. Today, that house, known as the Suffolk Resolve House, is home to the Milton Historical Society.

Dr. Warren, a physician and father of four, was president of the Massachusetts Provincial Congress in April, 1775. About the colonists’ desires for independence, Dr. Warren has said, “we determine to die or be free.”

The evening begins at 6 P.M. with cocktails. Dr. Warren will be available for conversation, particularly about matters of national importance! Dinner is at 7 P.M., and Dr. Warren’s formal program begins at 8 P.M.

Dr. Joseph Warren is portrayed by Michael LePage. Michael LePage, originally from Duxbury and a graduate of the University of Maine, is currently employed at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds. An experienced historic presenter, you might also find him at Adams National Historical Park, Marriott’s Custom House, the Paul Revere House, and many other historical venues.
