Some lucky Miltonians got a sneak snack last evening at The Plate, a small, intimate, place that will be serving up “handcrafted comfort food.” That’s how Suzanne Lombardi, the chef/proprietor, describes it and from what we were forunate enough to sample, just about a perfect description.
We tried the grilled eggplant sandwich and the smokey tomato soup. They were great – and, believe me, I am not an eggplant kind of guy. Everything is done with a lot of care. . . everything: the decor, the plates behind the counter, the wait staff / counter people’s uniforms, their smiles. A very friendly vibe and killer food – check out the menu here. They plan to open for business Thursday.
Here is a gallery of shots from the event and some of the happy folks that were there. Our thanks to Tom Palmer for the photos.
