Local favorite Glenn Ryan has been cast in Milton Players production of Ken Ludwig’s Lend Me A Tenor opening Nov. 4. The show opens this week end with performances on Friday and Saturday @ 8:00 and a Sunday matinee @ 2:00. You can find complete ticket information here.
As the General Manager of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company, Ryan’s Saunders is an authoritarian,
uptight man with a short fuse, most of which he takes out on his daughter Maggie’s fiancé, Max. When
“Il Stupendo,” the Italian opera star who was supposed to sing Verdi’s “Otello,” takes a powder on a bad
case of mixed medications, Saunders thinks a thorough browbeating is the ticket to somehow
inducing Max to step into the role unrehearsed.
Besides the side-splitting effects of the ensuing calamity, there is also some great music. Both Mark
Estano as Max and his counterpart Alberto Rizzotti as “Il Stupendo” perform floridly amidst the chaos.
Don’t miss the Milton Players production of this outrageously over the top comedy in the inaugural offering of their Season 79.
