Kristine Hodlin in the running for Library Trustee

from the candidate

I am announcing my candidacy for Library Trustee and would appreciate your support and vote on April 26.

Three long-time, committed trustees are retiring and leaving a large void. I love the library and the services it affords our Milton community. I am interested in stepping up and offering my skills and energy to fill one of these positions to continue their good work.

My husband, Paul and I have lived in Milton since 1984, raising our three children – Nils, Kurt and Erika. We have embraced Milton for 27 years through involvement with our neighbors, the Milton Public Schools, Youth sports, East Congregational Church, Town government and the Milton Public Library. I have been employed as a Vice President of Information Technology at State Street Corporation for over 16 years and have served as a member of the Warrant Committee, Town meeting, Treasurer of MHS Boosters and Pierce PTO, East Congregational Church Finance Chair and Treasurer, FAME and PTO member.

An effective trustee is one who participates intelligently in the entire political process. My experience in technology, municipal finance and management provide a deep and full foundation to successfully collaborate with the Director, the Staff, the Friends of the Library and the Library Foundation to expand library programs, encourage community use of the building and guide the ongoing care and maintenance of our beautiful, new facility. These goals are best accomplished through sharing, respect and nurturing of innovative ideas; a cooperative, energetic spirit; and careful monitoring and use of our limited resources.

If elected, I will serve willingly, responsibly and creatively for all the citizens of Milton.
