The race for Board of Selectmen is now down to two.

At the beginning of this evening’s meeting of the Planning Board, Ed Duffy announced that he does not intend to pursue the open seat on the Board of Selectmen.

In a brief statement, Mr. Duffy cited personal health concerns and the fact that issues coming before the Planning Board and the Selectmen show no signs of abating. Mr. Duffy had stated previously that should he win election to the Board of Selectmen, he would also continue to serve on the Planning Board for at least a year. In considering the amount of time and energy required to do both, Mr. Duffy decided to commit his energy to exclusively addressing the issues before the Planning Board.
