The message goes out: “One Goal. One Community . . .”

. . . Moving Beyond Bullying and Empowering for Life.”

Fired up!

The energy was boundless at anti-bullying rallies that rolled across the Milton public schools yesterday (11/10) as crowds of students chanted, cheered and sang as part of the program titled One Goal, One Community: Moving Beyond Bullying and Empowering for Life.

It began at Milton High, which drew more than 1,000 students to the Copeland Field House for a boisterous rally on anti-bullying that then travelled through the elementary schools as students from Bentley University were joined by more than a dozen Milton High school students who travelled to all of Milton’s elementary and the middle school to spread the message of empowerment. The students listened to Bentley and Milton High students speak about their pledge to reject bullying, empower mutual respect and dedicate themselves to a better community.

Students were also asked to sign a pledge banner and wear special wristbands to help remind them about the message of “One Goal.”

The program was part of a two-day Anti-Bullying event sponsored by the Milton Public Schools and Bentley University. Professor Gregory Hall was the featured speaker at a parent-only event on Tuesday night, which also featured first-hand testimony from his Bentley University students.

“Events such as this can only help to improve the culture of our school and the lives of our students,” said Mary Gormley, Superintendent of the Milton Public Schools.
