Last Friday night was a magic moment at Turner’s Pond.
If you were there about 7:20 or so you might have seen it. Looking south across this gem of a pond a series of lights bobbed and bounced the entire length of the far shore, glittering and sparkling off the surface of the pond.
Knights, superheroes, fairies, and all sorts of little nefarious repascallions were marching with their lantern lights, laughing and chattering as they went. A bright full moon hung in the sky and from afar, if you listened carefuly, you would hear, coming from the high school, the singing of our national anthem.
It was the annual Glover School Moonlight Harvest Lantern Walk. Lantern and light festivals are found in many cultures and countries, and this parade of light was a small work of wonder. And on this crisp autumn there was no better place to be than Milton, Massachusetts.
