Changes coming to the Milton Public Library parking lot

There are changes coming to the Milton Public Library parking lot. The entrance and exit to the Library parking lot are scheduled to switch places beginning Thursday, October 17th change will reverse the direction of traffic in the Library parking lot.

After having to leave their home of 80 years due to the sale of the Milton Woman’s Club, the Milton Players will perform The Diary of Anne Frank in their new, state-of-the-art theatre at the Massachusetts Hospital School in Canton November 1-10. The Pulitzer Prize-winning drama portrays the hopes and fears of the real-life Anne Frank, a Jewish girl in hiding with her family and neighbors in German-occupied Holland.

Joyce, Senate Pass VALOR Act II Expanding Veterans’ Services

Senator Brian A. Joyce joined his colleagues in the Massachusetts Senate to pass a wide-ranging set of protections and services for veterans. The VALOR Act II is a unification of 14 separate bills addressing veterans’ issues that include tax breaks, employment opportunities, educational assistance, and more.

There was a house fire on Eliot Street yesterday just around the corner from my house. I was wandering around Ponkapoag looking for my golf ball at the time some of my neighbors were standing in horror and awe.

Oktoberfest Fundraiser for Milton Crew

The Friends of Milton Crew are hosting their annual Oktoberfest fundraiser on Friday, October 11 from 7-11 pm at First Parish, 535 Canton Ave, Milton

There will be hors d’oeuvres, cash bar, raffle, & silent auction. Admission is $25 and tickets are available at the door.

Milton Crew is also hosting the South Shore Invitational Regatta. It takes place Saturday at 3:00pm on the Neponset. Hingham and Quincy will compete along with boats from Milton. Great viewing is available at Pope John Paul Park.

There has been a serious multi-alarm fire on Eliot just down from Oak Road. Two people were rescued from the blaze. Crews are still on the scene. A portion of Eliot Street is closed to traffic. Details to follow as they become available. Please click “Read more” for video footage courtesy of NECN.

Milton’s ‘One Book, One Town’ caps off a successful year
