Groundbreaking on Greenway extension
We ripped this off of Representative Cullinane’s Facebook page (hopefully he won’t mind). Yesterday was the groundbreaking for Greenway extension (see related post here). He leads his post with a great quote. Here is Rep Cullinane’s post:
“This is so much more than just a path for walking or biking. This is the realization of a vision of connecting our communities to one another.”
Poem for the day 12.23.14 – Leisure

Leisure

What is this life is, full of care
We have no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.

This deer was one of four that had gathered at the Valley Road T stop (in search of a sleigh?). Thanks to Alexander Fernández for grabbing the shot.
Frank thoughts on suggested improvements to Town Meeting – Just do it & consider a state of the town address
Commentary by Frank Schroth
A cast of town officials assembled at the 12/11 meeting of the Board of Selectmen at the invitation of Chair Katie Conlon. Brian Walsh, Town Moderator, Sue Galvin, Town Clerk, Ted Hays, Chair of the Warrant Committee, Rick Neely, Chair of Government Study Committee, and Alex Whiteside, Chair of Planning Board were all present to discuss how Town Meeting might be improved in light of criticisms received after last fall’s town meeting. A couple of good ideas were raised, and now is the time to implement them.
A small bit of winter wonder
Where we live not far from Shields Park received little by way of snow yesterday; but Great Blue Hill was an altogether different story.
