Twelve Milton officers will form a team and compete with over 500 first responders this Saturday and Sunday in the Boston Strong Responders Workout Marathon. And at over 24 hours it is a marathon. Does that sound nuts? Sure! Does it sound like fun? Well . . . at least if you are watching. It is all for a good cause.

Edmond Romulus, a Milton resident, has pulled nomination papers and is aiming to run in the special election for the vacant 12th Suffolk District House seat. A team representing the fourth grade at Collicot School earned Highest Honors in the 2012-13 WordMasters Challenge™—a national vocabulary competition involving nearly 150,000 students annually. The students scored an impressive 185 points out of a possible 200 in the last of three meets this year, placing seventh in the nation. In addition, the fourth grade team at Collicot School placed fifth nationally in the overall competition, earning 552 of a possible 600 points in the three meets combined.

An afternoon road rage incident and a racial slur in Milton escalated into a fight and resulted in two arrests on Monday, June 10, police said.
Kwame Boyce, 26, of Quincy was driving near Lower Mills when he merged into traffic, passing in front of a vehicle driven by William Mooney, 52, of Quincy, according to Milton police.(Read the full story here.)
