Chocolate! That creamy, rich, delicious confection we adore is something that few of us can resist, refuse or deny ourselves. Yet this sweet and decadent delicacy is something far different that what was enjoyed by our ancestors just a few centuries ago when it was a delicious and flavorful drink referred to as the “Food of the Gods.”

Friends of the Library Book Store open

The Friends of the Library have opened a new book store.

WHEN:  Tuesdays from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm / Wednesdays from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm / Saturdays from 10:00 – 2:00

WHERE: Main branch, lower level / 476 Canton Ave. / Milton, MA

If you have books (in good condition) to donate, please bring them to the Library DURING SALE HOURS!
Maximum one bag donation per visit.

MPS Adult Education program registration open

The fall session of the Milton Adult Education program is registration schedule has been announced. Courses in digital photography, computer applications, cooking, foreign languages and more are available.

Cans for Cats: Bottle drive for MHS Athletics

“Cans for Cats” is a monthly bottle and can drive to support Milton High School Athletics.

It is held at the front of Milton High on Gile Road. Please pay them a visit on one of these dates and save those cans!

Benefit for the Milton Food Pantry and Milton Animal Shelter

Dress your four legged friend in ther BEST Halloween costume and join us for a one mile “pooch parade” walk!

Prizes will be awarded to the caring canines with the best costume!

Buck Hill Fall Adventure

Enjoy a spectacular panorama atop Buck Hill on this moderately strenuous trek. Hikers will be rewarded with a dazzling display of color following a steep ascent. Sturdy footgear recommended.

Help Battle Exotic, Invasive Plant, Blue Hills Reservation

Interested in helping remove Mile a Minute from the Paul’s Bridge section of Fowl Meadow (intersection of Brush Hill Rd. and Neponset Valley Pkwy. in Milton (you will see a small parking lot and wooden Blue Hills sign)?

DCR and volunteers have been removing Mile a Minute periodically in this section of the Blue Hills Reservation! The time has come to pull again! Please bring: Gloves, snacks/lunch, water, long sleeve shirt (I have some gloves if you don’t have a pair or don’t want to ruin your gardening gloves!).

What to expect: Great pride and joy as a result of removing this nasty and annoying invasive! What you might see: Spotted turtles, snakes, birds, cool wetland plants, crayfish & parts of Fowl Meadow you may have never seen before.
