Milton Garden Club to hold Perennial & Compost Sale

The Milton Garden Club will hold its Perennial and Compost Sale on the Milton Public Library
Lawn on Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 8:00 to 10:00 am, rain or shine.

The treasures for sale include perennial plants from member gardens and other distant nurseries specially selected to thrive in Milton’s environmental conditions and to re-bloom year after year.

Temple Shalom Offers Tot Shabbat Service

Temple Shalom of Milton continues its monthly Tot Shabbat Services on Saturday, April 28th, from 11:15 – noon. The service will be held in the foyer of Temple Shalom’s sanctuary in the Great Hall of the First Congregational Church, 495 Canton Avenue, Milton. Entry is through the Centre School doors in the back of the church.

Tonight! The Student’s View of 350 Years of Milton

The Milton Public Schools, in partnership with the Milton 350th Anniversary Committee, is proud to sponsor a evening of Educational History of Milton – The Students View.

The evening will be a presentation of student work from each grade level across all six Milton Public Schools.

Milton 350th Softball and Baseball Classics

On Sunday, April 15 two ball games will take place between Milton High School and Milton Academy at Curry College in honor of the Town’s 350th Anniversary. Girls Softball is scheduled for 9:30 AM and Boys Baseball is scheduled for 2:00 PM.

Student Talent Show

Where can you find music, poetry, dance and sketch comedy all in one place?  At the Milton High School Student Talent Show, taking place Thursday April 12th at 7PM in the Auditorium.  Come support your friends and classmates as they strut their stuff on stage! Tickets are $5 and on sale starting Monday during all lunches.  (Presented by the Junior and Senior classes).

Pops Concert at Fuller Village

The award-winning Milton High School Orchestra will present an afternoon of popular music at the Brush Hill Road campus of Fuller Village(1372 Brush Hill Rd). Under the expert direction of Dr. Noreen Diamond Burdette, this 40-piece orchestra will perform 20th Century favorites from Top 40, Broadway, the American Songbook and more. The concert is FREE and sponsored by the Milton Rotary Club!

 

Jazz Trio to perform “American Songbook Beyond at Library

On Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 2 PM, the Milton Public Library offers up the last concert in their spring series by hosting the acoustic trio known as “Too Human.” The band is Ellen Bruno, a talented vocalist, and her husband Roger Bruno, percussionist. The trio is then completed by an upright bass player, and their repertoire follows primarily jazz standards for a program they call A Celebration of Song: The American Songbook and Beyond.

MPL Classic Movies continue with “The Conversation”

The Milton Public Library will feature the film “The Conversation” on Thursday evening, April 12th in the Keys Community Room (lower level) as part of our Classic Movie Series. Emcee Jeff Stoodt will offer a trivia quiz and award prizes before the movie, starting at 6:15 PM. The event is free and is sponsored by The Friends of the Milton Public Library. The film will begin at 6:30 PM sharp.

Celebrate Patriot’s Day at the historic Suffolk Resolves House

The Milton Historical Society is hosting an Open House from 1 to 3 PM on Sunday, April 15, 2012, at the Suffolk Resolves House, 1370 Canton Avenue, Milton.

In 1774, delegates to the Suffolk County Convention came here to set the stage for Paul Revere’s famous ride and the Battles of Lexington and Concord.
