On Saturday, November 10th at 2 PM, The Boston Guitar Orchestra (BGO) will perform in the Keys Community Room of the Milton Public Library. The BGO is a community-based amateur ensemble that is committed to the promotion of the arts in the New England area through the performance and creation of works for guitar ensemble while building an inclusive community of participants and audiences.

The Milton High School Boosters will hold their annual golf and tennis tournament, “Swing for Sports”, on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at the Wollaston Golf Club. All proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit the athletes of MHS. Please see the flyer below for more information.
Vivien Li of The Boston Harbor Association to Speak in Milton
Milton enjoys a plethora of natural resources, including our proximity to Boston and all of its assets. Vivien Li, President of The Boston Harbor Association, will speak at Milton Garden Club’s upcoming conservation meeting to be held Thursday, Nov. 1 at 7 pm at the Milton Public Library Keys Community Room.
“Segregated Worlds” Film Series: “Imitation of Life”
The Milton Public Library will host the second film in teacher Jeff Stoodt’s film series called “Segregated Worlds” on Thursday, November 8th, at 6:15 PM in the Keys Community Room. Mr. Stoodt’s series is in support of the themes included in To Kill A Mockingbird, the current Milton Reads book.The film is Imitation of Life and there will be trivia before it is shown at 6:15 and then the screening will happen at 6:30.

Town Meeting October 22

Town Meeting will be held on Monday, October 22 @ 7:30 in the Charles Winchester Auditorium at Milton High School. The warrant arrived at home recently however it should be noted that it is not current with what will be discussed at Town Meeting due to discussions and developments that took place subsequent to the warrant going to press.
Milton High School Boosters Can & Bottle Drive
The next Milton High School Boosters “Cans for Cats” monthly recycling drive at the high school will be held on Saturday, November 3rd, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. The girls basketball team will be at the front entrance of the high school, 25 Gile Road, to collect your cans and bottles to help support the girls basketball program. Please stop by and support their team. Go Wildcats!
Remembrance Sunday at First Parish
On October 28, First Parish in Milton will observe Remembrance Sunday. In this annual service, parishioners remember and honor the memories of those who have been dear to our lives. This service for all ages will be led by The Rev. Kristin Grassel Schmidt. All are invited to bring mementos or photos of loved ones for the candle table.
First Parish is located at 535 Canton Ave Milton MA 02186. The service begins at 10:30 am, the meetinghouse is wheelchair accessible, and all are welcome.
Reminder Former Boston Celtic, Chris Herren, to Speak at MHS

Former Boston Celtic and local high school basketball star Chris Herren is providing an anti-substance abuse presentation to members of the Milton community. The presentation will take place at a town-meeting style event on Thursday, October 18th at 7 pm in the Charles C. Winchester Auditorium. The presentation will last approximately one hour and will include a Question and Answer session.
