The Evolution of the Suffolk Resolves House – and “why the story continues”.

On Saturday, February 2, 2013, from 10AM  to Noon, Suffolk Resolves Curator Steve Kluskens will be giving a lecture on the Suffolk Resolves house and its history.

The 2 hour-long lectures are for Milton Historical Society members only and take place at the Suffolk Resolves House at 1370 Canton Avenue, Milton.  New members are welcome!  Space is limited to 20 people per session and by reservation only.Please RSVP to programs@miltonhistoricalsociety.org or by phone to Eleanor at 617-696-4115.

Winter Stone Soup gatherings at the Wakefield Estate

The Wakefield Estate is reviving its “Winter Stone Soup” gatherings the Thursday with a new twist. In the past, the estate’s stone soup gatherings were held at mid-day, a time many found difficult to break away. This year, our Stone Soup Series will be held on the final Thursday of each month with tasty soup and a featured speaker.

Annual Martin Luther King Celebration to be held at Concord Baptist Church

Milton’s annual Martin Luther King Celebration will be held at the Concord Baptist Church. There will be performances from 5:30 – 6:15 by the Milton High School Gospel Chorus, St Mary’s of the Hills Liturgical Dancers, and Tucker and Glover Student singers. A simple supper will be served from 6:16 – 6:45. At 7:00pm will be the Memorial Celebration.

Reminder – “When in Rome” to be performed by Pierce Players

The Pierce Players, the drama students at Pierce Middle School, will be performing When in Rome, which if it is anything like past productions, will be sensational. Faces of Homelessness to Speak in Milton

The Common Hearth series at First Parish in Milton continues on January 23rd with a presentation by the Massachusetts Faces of Homelessness Speakers’ Bureau. The program begins at 7pm and will feature currently and formerly homeless speakers, as well as a facilitator from the Massachusetts Housing and Shelter Alliance.
