Reminder: R&B band Part-Tme Lovers to perform at the library
On Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 2 PM, the Milton Public Library will host the dynamic blues and R&B band called “Part-Time Lovers” in a free one-hour concert held in the Keys Community Room (lower level). Named “Best Blues Band in Boston” by Boston Blues Society in 2000, the group is led by ace drummer Brian Kelley and includes the talented Berklee College of Music professor Craig Hlady on guitar, fellow faculty member Dave Clark on bass, and the always charismatic and entertaining Steve Matthews on vocals.
Russian vocal ensemble Lyra to perform at St Michael’s Church
LYRA, a Russian vocal ensemble from St. Petersburg, will perform at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Milton this Thursday, September 12, at 7:30 p.m., as part of the Music at St. Michael’s series. The a capella group sings sacred music, Russian folk songs, and works by well-known and little-known Russian composers.The concert is free and open to the public; a freewill offering will be accepted.

Milton Reads 2013, Closing Celebration at the Library
Milton Reads 2013: One Book, One Town, comes to a close on Saturday, October 5, with a family celebration party, at the Milton Library from 2-4pm. The Friends of the Milton Public Library, sponsors for the program, want to thank the community for reading The Gardner Heist, by Ulrich Boser, and for participating in the many events hosted over the summer and early fall.
Eco-chef Didi Emmons and Author of “Wild Flavors” to speak at MPL
An extraordinary 70-year old female farmer, Eva Sommaripa, created a ShangriLa refuge of uncommon herbs, greens, and wild edibles. Boston chef Didi Emmons spent a year on the 200-acre farm and her book, “Wild Flavors,” captures the magic, wonder, and knowledge from her experiences.
Friday teen movie @ MPL – “Back to the Future”
On Friday, September 13 at 3 p.m., the Teen Services Department of the Milton Library will show Back to the Future (1985) for students in grades 6-12. Admission is free and refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Milton Public Library. The library is located at 476 Canton Ave., Milton, MA.

A free movie, The Thomas Crown Affair (1968) starring Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway will play at the Milton Public Library, 476 Canton Avenue in Milton in the Keys Community Room (lower level) from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19. (Note: This movie replaces Trance, which was previously scheduled)
