The MHS debate team, now in its 4th year, continues to perform at a high level. Three out of the last four years the MHS team has advanced to the semi-final or final round in the state tournament. Last week end Milton High hosted the state tournament and the team earned one of the top awards.

Curiosity Reaps Rewards For Pierce Students
The following students had their work selected in the 2013 Cambridge Science Festival’s Curiosity Challenge. This contest received over 2,000 entries this year. All the winners will be honored in a ceremony at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on Sunday, April 21st. In addition,their work will be published in this year’s Cambridge Science Festival book.

Phelan finalist for Superintendent job in Medfield
Wicked Local Milton is reporting this morning that Milton’s Assistant Superintendent, John Phelan is a finalist for the Superintendent’s position in Medfield. The other finalists are Glenn Brand, assistant superintendent in Sharon and Jeffrey Marsden, superintendent in Wrentham.
Donorschoose.org – helping parents to help teachers (and you can too!)

A dollar or two may sound like small change; but small change can have a big impact. Talk to some Milton’s school teachers and they will tell you that, thanks to Donorschoose.org an online charity that enables educational projects to solicit funding, it is a tremendous help. Since 2011 Milton schools have raised $18,000 for a variety of classroom projects.
