Photo for the day 10.05.14

Here is a shot of the Milton High JV volleyball after a dramatic third game win over Wellesley. Jimmy Coyne worked on the photo to highlight the cause they were playing in support of.

The girls were playing to benefit Side-Out “DIG PINK” Breast Cancer awareness. Good cause and good result.

Poem(s) for the day 10.25.14

Today is St. Crispin’s Day.It was on this day the English, though vastly outnumbered, defeated the French in the Battle of Agincourt.

from the St. Crispin’s Day speech, Henry V – read the full text here.

This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne’er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;

It is also the anniversary of the Charge of the Light Brigade famously commemorated in this poem by Alfred Lord Tennyson.

Wind and rain pummeled Milton
