Milton Residents to Sing Sunday, December 7, 2014
The Quincy Choral Society will begin its 34th season with a concert of holiday music on December 7, 2014. The major work of the evening is Karl Jenkins’ Stella Natalis, which is written for chorus, orchestra, soprano, and trumpet. The soloists will be Chelsea Beatty, soprano, and Stephen Banzaert, trumpet.
The Milton Historical Society will hold their annual Holiday Open House on Sunday, December 7, 2014 from 1 to 3 PM at the historic Suffolk Resolves House, 1370 Canton Avenue, Milton.

The Board of Selectmen in their capacity as Trustees of the Governor Stoughton Trust heard from Mary Harper and Sarah Sportman of Archeological and Historical Services Inc. who had performed a survey of the old Town Farm to determine if it was a Native American burial site. They concluded it is not. “There is not ambiguity about it,” said Ms. Harper.
On Sunday, November 30, St. Michael’s Episcopal Church is pleased to present the annual Advent Processional, a candlelit service with procession, seasonal readings and music for the Season of Advent.
Once a month, an after school movie is shown in the library for teens. Movie choices have been posted on Facebook, Tumblr, and at the library in the teen room. Cast your vote at any of these locations. Friday Flicks are after school for students in grades 6-12.

Devotees of southern soul food were disappointed when Mrs. Jones, a popular take-out spot at 2255 Dorchester Avenue, abruptly closed its doors last May after its namesake owner fell ill. This month, a Mattapan entrepreneur has assumed control of the village storefront and hopes to open his new venture named “Bred Gourmet” — with plans to serve up a mix of burgers, smoothies and salads to a health-conscious clientele. The Board of Appeals (BoA) opened a hearing for a special permit requested by the Falconi Companies with regard to a restaurant they want open at the site of the old Milton Cinema. A special permit is required principally to obtain approval from the board for the restaurant parking plan and reconstruction of the site. The proposal was presented by Marion McEttrick, an attorney representing the Falconi Companies. It was a long night.
