Pastor of East Congregational addresses Rotary on housing

The Rev. Shelly Davis was the speaker at the latest Milton Rotary Club meeting.  Rev. Davis was recently called as pastor at East Congregational Church and has been serving the congregation since last August.  She moved to Milton with her partner Beth Olson in November.  Rev. Davis has been listening carefully to find out which issues she ought to be concerned about as a new Milton resident and leader of a local faith community.

DPW Notices: Road widening & Holiday trash pick up

Pending winter storms for today and this Sunday / Monday have heightened the concern for further narrowing of roadway widths. Further narrowing of roadways could affect emergency apparatus access and, at the very least, will slow delivery of regular services like trash removal, oil deliveries, and normal movement of neighborhood traffic.

Cheryl Tougias Announces Candidacy for Milton Planning Board

Tougias, who lives at 660 Canton Avenue, has filed papers with the Town Clerk to be placed on the April 28th town election ballot.

Police urge caution; power outages, street lights out

USE CAUTION…Much of the town is out of power along with many street lights. Some of the areas we have received calls on are Countryside Ln, SugarMaple Ln, MeetingHouse Ln, Governor Stoughton Ln, Canton Ave, and Curry College. Street lights that are out are Blue Hill Avenue/Robbins, Blue Hills Parkway/Canton Avenue, and Canton Avenue/Unquity Road. NSTAR has been notified and predict the power to be back on by 10:00 am. Please use caution and leave with plenty of time to get to your destination due to the traffic in town from the street lights being out and because it is snowing outside. Also, DPW is out sanding the roadways.

GOP wants inquiry into state senator’s gifts to colleagues

Milton Reads is Coming!! Big Reveal of Book Title set for February 12th

Get ready for Milton Reads 2015! The Big Reveal of the book selection for this town-wide reading program will take place on Thursday, February 12th.  There will be plenty of time to check the book out of the library and to get ready for the Milton Reads programs, which take place during the month of March.

There is “No Parking” allowed over night at this time. PUBLIC Safety and the ability of emergency vehicles to be able to respond and operate is vital. This directive INCLUDES , ANY RESIDENT WHO HAS A “Hardship Permit.” The guidelines of the permit clearly define that the permit is “suspended” during emergency snow situations.. We know this is tough, but we have to exercise due caution.
