Head’s Up – construction starting on Adams Street

Representatives from the WMRA presented at last Thursday’s Board of Selectmen’s meeting.
Their purpose was to bring the Selectmen up to date on the construction that is about to commence on Adams Street from Milton Village Squantum Street / St. Agatha’s. They are going to be replacing two water lines that have been in place since early 1900’s.

Fagan running for re-election

Kathy Fagan has decided to go back for more. She will be running to retain her seat on the Milton Board of Selectmen. She is coming to the end of her first term. She will be challenged by Bob Sweeney.

Fagan was the upstart last time around when she unseated incumbent James Mullen. Mr. Mullen is Milton’s Town Clerk.

Senator Joyce on the status of the Ulin rink

Last Thursday, in a letter to Milton town officials and the community, Senator Joyce updated them on legislation before the Massachusetts House regarding the Max Ulin Rink which sits at corner of Unquity Road and Canton Ave, identified the benefits of that legislation, and in doing so, sought to clear up misinformation swirling around this issue.

The future management of the Ulin Rink has become something of a hot button issue recently.

Bill calls for transferring state facility to Milton

Milton police seek suspects in drive-by shooting

Milton police are looking for at least two men who were responsible for an attempted drive-by shooting on Blue Hill Avenue early Friday afternoon. Milton Police are searching for a grey Toyota sedan that may have been stolen earlier in the day. The shooting occurred at Blue Hill Ave and Austin Street. The car sped away in the direction of Mattapan at approximately 12:40pm yesterday afternoon. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Milton detective unit at 617-898-4804.

Todd Greenwood has officially announced that he is making another run at a Milton Assessor seat.  He ran unsuccessfully last year against incumbent Thomas Gunning. Gunning was able to hold onto his seat. This time around Greenwood is hoping to unseat incumbent, Kathleen Heffernan.

There are three assessors in town. M. Joseph Manning is the third assessor.
